Apparently, I'm destined to never have a job
When the bill comes for dinner, I wave my hand at it like, "Maaath. It's just so silly. Numbers. Ha."
Honestly, I can do math. I did
take AP Calculus in high school. I also learned to do really great drawings of things like ladders
leaned up against buildings with apples falling from them and two trains heading towards each
other at speeds of X and Y. Or was that Junior High Algebra in which I earned an A because my
Mom dated my teacher's brother in high school and I gave him a case of Diet Coke for Christmas?
I kid. I kid.
I'm just more prone to words and pictures.
Which is why I do things like read Young Adult novels.
Knowing Words makes me SMRT.
The Rock Star's Daughter by Caitlyn DuffyMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book is free on Amazon Kindle. I'm not sure I would have read it otherwise as I'm not exactly the target audience, but I did enjoy the read.
The Rock Star's Daughter is an easy, breezy read that tells with some tough topics {drug use, alcoholism, teen partying, sex} in a relatable way. Taylor is smart and I loved that she wasn't written as a total airhead, love struck teenager. Did she make some dumb choices, yes. But, didn't we all make some stupid choices as teenagers?
Great book for YA!

I don't think I learned much in either of those math classes, but they were fun to be in because of you and Willis. Remember playing sister sally walker in Algebra?
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for good, free Kindle books! So thanks! Just downloaded it (or had it 'delivered via Whispernet'- whatever that means, Amazon). So, I think right now would be a bad time to be looking for a children's librarian position, but maybe by the time you were out of school, it would be better! My mom was a children's librarian for awhile and that is what I hope to do too when we finally are settled. California is not the place to find that kind of job right now with all their crazy budget cuts. Essentially, it depends on where you want to work eventually. Oh, and do you want to be a children's librarian in a school setting or public library setting?
ReplyDeleteMath is not my thing, I'm more a words and pictures person too
